What our Volunteers had to say...
"A pleasure to work in this Community Transport project".
"I find the volunteer work is very much appreciated by all the service users we transport and as a person I find it very satisfying to be able to help".
"I enjoy my time with people who need and appreciate the support".
"Volunteering met all of my expectations. I received great support and training. I am sorry to be leaving". - Doug (Bus Driver)
"Being a volunteer, is more than just being a driver. It is about being the contact to the outside world for some people. One gets more out of it than one puts in and there are so many interesting stories out there. If you take the time to listen and acknowledge you will find we are all in this together. We appreciate the work we do as volunteers and the great work the office staff do on a daily basis." - Brian (Individual Transport/Car driver)
"Volunteering is a great way to give something back to the community in which you live. As a volunteer, I want to make a positive difference in some small way. Volunteering is a great way to learn more about yourself and much more about others less fortunate than yourself. It is very rewarding to see how seemingly mundane actions can have a big impact on people who rely heavily on Community Transport". - Warren (Individual Transport/Car Driver)
"We started volunteering about 5 years ago. We find it very rewarding. As you get older you tend to get some sort of niggling pain yourself, but when you take these lovely people to their doctors appointment and most of them are very needy, you tend to forget about your own issues. This is a wonderful service that is provided by Council and is not only about getting these people to their appointments but enjoying a conversation with them. We would definitely recommend life as a volunteer!" - Gary and Rhonda (Individual Transport Drivers)
