Our fleet of group transport buses are available for hire to eligible not-for-profit community organisations and groups.
We have a fleet of modern buses that can be hired throughout the Wollongong and Shellharbour area by not-for-profit community groups and organisations who meet the eligibility criteria.
Our vehicles are fitted with safety accessories such as additional steps, handrails, and a hoist to assist in supporting the safe transport of passengers. The hoist can be used for people requiring wheelchair access, using mobility aids or who have difficulty using the bus steps.
A call for an Expression of Interest (EOI) from Community Groups requesting a bus will go out annually in October, a bus booking application form must be filled in to be considered. Buses will be allocated in order of resource availability. All groups will be advised of the outcome before the end of the current year. All groups must provide a copy of their current Public Liability Insurance (Certificate of Currency) to cover their members for incidents other than motor vehicle accidents.
The group must also provide a person to assist and supervise the group participants on each bus trip. Eligible groups are required to pay a contribution for hiring the vehicles.

A volunteer driver will be provided subject to availability; however groups are welcome to provide their own drivers. All drivers are required to register as a driver with Community Transport and hold a minimum LR Class Licence.
