Community Transport: Wollongong-Shellharbour provides transport options to keep people moving and involved in the community.
We provide services such as transport to medical appointments on our dedicated Health Buses or in a private car driven by our team of wonderful volunteers. We also transport people to daily activities such as shopping and visiting allowing them to keep connected in their community. Our 22 -25 seater Bus Fleet transports community groups all over the Illawarra on daily excursions and to social community groups.
Currently we are looking for drivers that hold an LR licence or above to drive our community buses and C class licence holders to drive on our heath bus service.
Please register your interest by filling in the online form. We will be intouch as soon as possible.
Below are some of the Community Transport volunteering roles available:

Health Bus Drivers drive one of our 12 seater vehicles picking up people from around the Wollongong and Shellharbour areas and taking them to medical appointments.
Individual Drivers don’t want to drive one of our vehicles? Drive your own car to transport people living around your local area to medical and other appointments and activities.
Volunteer Bus Support People assist on the Health Buses taking people to and from their medical appointments. You will help them on an off the bus as well as providing some social interaction on the bus.
Volunteer Shopping Support People accompany people using our regular shopping destination buses while they are shopping at places such as Shellharbour Square, Aldi or Bunnings providing companionship and assistance while at the venue.
All of our Community Transport volunteers require a Police Check which we will do for you at no cost to you. For driving roles, there are other checks that are required before you drive with us. On-going support, training and volunteer meetings are provided for all positions as well as reimbursement for out of pocket expenses.
